Objects of Use and Beauty
“If you want a golden rule that will fit everything, this is it: Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”
― William Morris
After a “tree change” in 2019, once Melbourne Based label Scott Benedictine has returned home to the idyllic Southern Highlands in NSW.
Here, in our quaint little country studio, with Ronnie (our pupper), we make from the heart. Respectfully blending traditional tailoring techniques with a more modern, ethical and sustainable design approach, we look in to the way we (as a society) relate to the garments we wear.
By doing so, we aim to bring back an emotional aspect to the industry, a human touch, a story, showing that garments can have worth greater then dollar signs.
We are a label that takes the time to listen you, and realises that each and everyone of you is unique, and that 'fit' is a relative concept, something that is personal to the wearer. With this in mind all the garments are gender-fluid. Wear the pieces how you will, fitted, loose, however you deem to be your choice of perfect 'fit'. By purchasing a Scott Benedictine piece, you enter into a kind of collaboration. We’ve spent careful time on every stitch, but its true form shows when you put it on.
